The Friends of the Art Museum of the Americas

The Art Museum of the Americas was established in 1976 to mark the two hundredth anniversary of the independence of the United States, host country of the Organization of the American States. The museum’s mission is to study, preserve and exhibit works of recognized artists of North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. It works to further awareness and appreciation of the art and cultural heritage of the OAS member countries, stimulate cultural interchanges, and encourage artistic production in the hemisphere.

The museum relies on private sector funding to support its programs and exhibitions, ranging from Bilateral Engagement, organized in conjunction with the Washington Sculptors Group, to the current show House of Americas Turns 100: Paul Philippe Cret and the Architecture of Dialogue.  By joining the Friends of the Art Museum of the Americas, not only do you help the museum further its mission, you will receive benefits such as members-only tours and discounts on fundraisers.

The Friends of the Art Museum of the Americas is a nonprofit, educational, charitable and cultural organization incorporated as a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) in the District of Columbia, therefore dues are tax deductible.
